This small town garden was a difficult shape due to an additional piece of
land added to it. The design creates a large contemporary space for
dining and entertaining including a timber pergola seating areas. A new
astroturf lawn is edged with a resin bound gravel path leading to small
secluded seating area. Lots of colourful and lush planting have made this
a much loved and cared for garden.
“We brought in Heartwood Garden Design to transform our tiny garden
and we weren’t disappointed. We love this new space we have, it’s perfect
for our large family and our lifestyle and has been an amazing
transformation. We really appreciated the plant aftercare provided and
really love taking care of the garden.”
This large family garden in Hertfordshire was created from a blank regular garden laid to lawn with an existing above ground swimming pool. Over a number of years colourful flowing planted borders have been added and 20 small and medium sized garden trees have been planted. Many new seating areas were created in the garden to make the most of areas of sun and shade and views of the garden. It is now beautiful, tranquil and full of birds, bees and insects.
This garden design was a blank canvas. We proposed a large area of
Millboard composite deck to provide a large contemporary outdoor space
with level threshold access to the house. New porcelain paving to the side
of the property extended the contemporary and low maintenance look as
well as a sweeping resin bound path leading to a sunny seating area. New
planted borders and colourful planting for sun and shade completed the
look in the back garden. New standard trees were also added to the
boundary to provide greater seclusion and screening. In the front garden
existing poorly laid concrete pavers were replaced with flowing resin
bound gravel and porcelain pavers creating a contemporary and
accessible route to the front door.
“To have our garden professionally designed and landscaped has
completely opened up the outdoor areas of our house. We have a large
and beautiful deck to enjoy relaxing and entertaining and we’re delighted
with the result.’
This extensive replanting project aimed to bring long season colour and
interest to two large areas of garden. Colourful perennial planting
including Salvia, Rudbeckia and Echinacea provide colour throughout the
summer with strong structural elements provided by Rosemary,
Amelanchier and Pittosporum providing drama through the winter months.
